Vice-Chairperson Barry Suydam represents the Second District covering the Garrison, Roseglen, Raub and White Shield areas. He was first elected in 2012 and then reelected in 2016 and 2020. He comes from a farm background and has been an active farmer for his entire lifetime. He has 23 years of experience as a business owner, 35 years' experience as a rural mail carrier, and was employed as a part-time deputy with the McLean County Sheriff's Department for 30 years. He has served on the Garrison Ambulance Service for 18 years as an EMT, volunteer, and board member and also served 4 years on the Garrison School Board.
