The McLean County Sheriff's Office is seeking dedicated and reliable candidates to join our team serving as Jailer/Dispatchers. This dual-role position combines responsibilities in both jail operations and emergency dispatch services. The successful candidate will oversee the safety and security of inmates while managing incoming calls and coordinating law enforcement dispatch.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and monitor inmates to ensure safety and compliance with facility rules.

• Perform intake, booking, and release procedures.

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching law enforcement, fire, and medical units as needed.

• Maintain accurate records of inmate activities and communication logs.

• Provide excellent customer service to the public and law enforcement personnel.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Strong communication and multitasking skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in emergency situations.

• Previous experience in law enforcement or corrections is preferred but not required.

The McLean County Highway Department is seeking one or more reliable and skilled Equipment Operator IIs to join our team. The ideal candidate will operate a variety of heavy machinery to support county projects, including road maintenance, construction, snow removal, and other public works. If you have experience with heavy equipment operation and a strong work ethic, we encourage you to apply. This is an entry-level position with room for advancement in the department. The new team member must live within 60 minutes travel time of Washburn.
