Equipment Operator I (Mowing)
The McLean County Highway Department is accepting applications until positions are filled for Temporary, Seasonal Equipment Operator I position(s). Employment period will tentatively run from August through November. Duties include ditch mowing, light equipment operation, and general maintenance work. Candidates must have a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and the ability to operate mowing and light construction equipment safely.

SRO - Washburn Schools/Patrol Deputy
The McLean County Sheriff's Office is seeking a highly motivated, community-oriented law enforcement professional to serve as a School Resource Officer (SRO) for the Washburn Public School District during the academic year and as a Patrol Deputy during school breaks or as department needs arise. This dual-role position is essential to fostering a safe and secure learning environment while maintaining public safety throughout our community.
Key Responsibilities:
As a School Resource Officer:
- Provide law enforcement presence and support on school campuses.
- Build strong relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Educate students and faculty on safety, crime prevention, and legal topics.
- Respond to and investigate incidents occurring on school property.
- Collaborate with school administrators to develop and implement safety protocols.
As a Patrol Deputy:
- Enforce local, state, and federal laws.
- Respond to calls for service, conduct traffic enforcement, and investigate crimes.
- Provide proactive patrols to deter criminal activity in assigned areas.
- Prepare detailed reports and testify in court as necessary.

Starting base salary range is $48,758.59 - $57,752.76 per year (commensurate with experience).
