Jailer/Dispatcher I
The McLean County Sheriff's Office is seeking a dedicated and reliable candidate to join our team serving as a Jailer/Dispatcher I. This dual-role position combines responsibilities in both jail operations and emergency dispatch services. The successful candidate will oversee the safety and security of inmates while managing incoming calls and coordinating law enforcement dispatch.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and monitor inmates to ensure safety and compliance with facility rules.
• Perform intake, booking, and release procedures.
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching law enforcement, fire, and medical units as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of inmate activities and communication logs.
• Provide excellent customer service to the public and law enforcement personnel.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in emergency situations.
• Previous experience in law enforcement or corrections is preferred but not required.

Starting base salary range is $45,881.24 - $49,505.21 per year (commensurate with experience) with opportunities for overtime.
